In a thrilling football game, the Washington State University Cougars defeated the San Jose State Spartans 34-20 on Saturday night at CEFCU Stadium in San Jose, California. The Cougars improved to 3-1 on the season with the win, while the Spartans fell to 1-3.

The game was close throughout, with the Cougars taking a 17-10 lead into halftime. The Spartans came out strong in the second half, tying the game at 17-17 early in the third quarter. But the Cougars responded with a touchdown drive of their own, and they never trailed again.
