Indonesia Unveils Golden Visa Scheme to Entice Foreign Investors

Program Launched to Boost Investment and Economic Growth
Indonesia has introduced a long-term visa scheme designed to attract foreign investors and stimulate economic growth. The Indonesia Golden Visa program, launched on July 25, 2024, offers foreign investors the opportunity to live and work in Indonesia for an extended period, ranging from five to ten years.
Investors can qualify for the golden visa by investing in designated sectors, such as infrastructure, manufacturing, and tourism. The required investment amount varies depending on the industry and the length of the visa desired.
The Indonesia Golden Visa program has already shown promising results. Since its trial launch in August 2023, the program has issued almost 300 golden visas, attracting over 123 million in foreign investment.
The program is expected to further boost Indonesia's economy by providing foreign investors with greater flexibility and stability. It also aims to enhance Indonesia's international competitiveness and attract highly skilled professionals.
Silmy Karim, chief of the Indonesian Immigration Agency, said, "The Golden Visa program is a strategic initiative to attract global investors and create a conducive environment for foreign investment in Indonesia. We believe that this program will contribute significantly to our country's economic growth and development."
