Harden, Zubac lead Clippers to 117-101 victory

James Harden scored 28 points in his playoff debut for the Clippers, Ivica Zubac had a playoff-career high 20 points to go with 15 rebounds, and Los Angeles defeated Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks 117-101 on Tuesday night.

Clippers take 1-0 series lead

The Clippers took a 1-0 lead in the Western Conference first-round series. Game 2 is Thursday night in Los Angeles.

Doncic had 27 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the Mavericks, but he was just 9 of 24 from the field. Dallas shot 40.8% from the field and was just 12 of 44 (27.3%) from 3-point range.

The Clippers shot 47.6% from the field and were 11 of 29 (37.9%) from 3-point range. They also outrebounded the Mavericks 54-39.

Harden was 10 of 20 from the field and 4 of 9 from 3-point range. He also had 4 rebounds and 7 assists.

Zubac was 8 of 12 from the field and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line. He also had 3 blocks.

The Clippers led by 10 points at halftime and extended their lead to 20 points in the third quarter. Dallas never got closer than 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Paul George added 24 points for the Clippers, while Kawhi Leonard had 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Spencer Dinwiddie scored 19 points for the Mavericks, while Reggie Bullock added 14 points.
