Early Life

Richard Stephen Dreyfuss was born on October 29, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Los Angeles, where he began his acting career at the age of 10. Dreyfuss attended the University of California, Berkeley, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Career

Dreyfuss made his film debut in "The Graduate" (1967). He went on to star in a number of popular films, including "American Graffiti" (1973), "Jaws" (1975), and "The Goodbye Girl" (1977). Dreyfuss has also appeared in a number of television shows, including "Cheers" and "The West Wing".
